RV Pre-Inspection Checklist

Getting the best information in an RV inspection, starts with a proper setup.  We will be testing everything that you will use on the RV over the course of an entire year, in the conditions that you have the potential to use it in.

Following this simple checklist insures that we are able to inspect all of the systems an

Checklist

Location

If the RV is purchased from a dealer, the RV Inspection will be at their location. If you are purchasing from an individual, it is best that the RV be set up at a campsite in the Dallas Fort Worth area (or city where being purchased from) with full services.

Electrical - 120v

The RV needs to be plugged in to the appropriate 30/50 amp pedestal so that we may inspect all of the components that operate on 120v service.  Also, the refrigerator needs to be turned on and running for at least 12 hours prior to the inspection.

Electrical - 12v

The 12v power system is generated from the RV house batteries.  These need to be fully charged so that we may inspect all of the components that operate on 12v power.

Water

We will be inspecting both of the fresh water systems, and need the RV connected to a city water source, as well as have the fresh water tank filled to 1/3.

Sewer

As part of the RV inspection, we will be operating the black and gray tank systems.  Please have the tanks empty, and a sewer hose connected.

Surface - Space

The RV Inspection will include the leveling system, and we need the RV to be placed on a flat surface if possible.  Also, having ample space around the RV will allow us to fully test all of the awnings and slideouts.

Propane

Please insure that there is sufficient propane in all tanks so that we may test the system, and all of the appliances that operate with propane.

Generator

If there is an onboard generator, make sure that there is enough fuel to run for at least 20 minutes to test the system under load.  If the RV is motorized, this will need at least 1/4 tank of fuel.

Motorized

If we are analyzing fluids on a motorized RV, the more information we have on the current fluids will provide better answers.  Knowing the type of fluid, date and miles last changed plus filter type is helpful.

Miscellaneous

Additional things that we find helpful for the RV Inspection are any maintenance/repair records, manuals, and remotes to operate any electronics.
